Yes. And usually that's perfectly normal - joints were stuck or will get stuck - moving will unstick them. You may hear and feel it.

Better to have joint move and hear/feel it, than to have joints stay stuck:-)

"Work?" "Long run?"

It's all relative. This exercise is an answer to the question, "What do you do to take care of your neck?"

It also helps in the management of neck pain related to dysfunction (joints, muscles, etc.) - from recent or past abnormal stresses, whether they be "injuries" or whatever. That is it helps when it's the appropriate thing to do and it is done correctly and regularly.

In relation to all of that, yes, it will work in the long run.

(More on "work". This is not a full rehab program - it's the transition from acute injury to active care - for many that is as far as it ever gets. Those who chose to truly "rehabilitate" their neck to full function beyond just pain relief - or beyond whatever level of function they had or have - need to add additional strengthening exercises. That opens up a conversation to complex to deal with right here and now... but it's a great conversation.)

The issue of defective Backtivators appears to be over, for now, at least. I haven't had any returned at all this year.

Our phone number is (425) 348-5207, but I wouldn't call us about ordering one if I were you: I would go to this URL and place my order:

https://www.activator.com/catalog_item.asp?ID=94

Of course if you are local to us, that's different. Call us we'll talk all you like, and you can stop by for a Backtivator, I still have several from my last order.

Thanks,

Great article. I wish to publish this and future articles in the Mukilteo Tai Chi Newsletter because I feel they will help lots of tai chi players, including me. May I have your permission?
