From Today’s Everett Herald Newspaper

Prescription Spending

“U.S. spending on prescription drugs soared last year, driven up primarily by costly breakthrough medications, manufacturer price hikes and a surge from millions of people newly insured due to the Affordable Care Act. Spending rose 13 percent, the biggest jump since 2001, to a total of $374 billion, according to a report released Tuesday by the IMS Institute for Healthcare Informatics. After accounting for population growth and inflation, the increase equaled 10 percent.”

This week’s news on the radio is about how the large employers are subsidized by the fact that their low wage, low benefit employee packages force people into the social “safety net” of publicly funded programs (think the Washington Apple health “insurance” – aka welfare, for one).

Somehow we are supposed to believe that this whole thing isn’t playing out exactly as it’s designed to. The only good news is that parasites can’t survive if they kill off the host entirely.
