Research overwhelmingly shows that regular exercise lowers the risk for many diseases, enhances the functioning of virtually every physiological system in the human body and improves psychological well-being.
34. Helps to preserve lean body tissue.
This only applies, of course, if you are talking about strength training: in other words muscle building. And muscle, by definition, is lean body tissue. I have commented many times here on the importance of knowing the primary purpose of the exercise you do. You, presumably have a reason for doing the exercise, if just makes sense to insure that the what you do provides the result you are interested in.
Put another way, and by way of a common and easily understood example, if you do hours and hours of cardio (of any kind) and fail to provide everything necessary for recovery, you will lose lean body tissue.
