“After examining these studies, the researchers concluded that people who have higher levels of religious involvement tend to have healthier sleep outcomes than their less religious counterparts.

Ellison believes the data suggests a person’s religious involvement benefits their mental health by reducing stress, promoting social engagement and support from fellow church members, providing psychological resources (hope, optimism, sense of meaning) and promoting healthier lifestyles (lower levels of substance abuse).”

What we are like

When I learn something that I think is important, helpful, profound, whatever, I tend to think that everyone else would/should/could learn and benefit.

In that vein, I share this from “The Wonder of Children” by Michael Gurian. It turns out not to be what I thought it was going to be but, so far, anything by Michael Gurian is golden.

“… we are like tree branches reaching toward light, reaching upward and outward not only so that the trunk will get the nutrition it needs, but also so that each individual leaf, each child, interconnected, will gain the light by which to grow.”

He is quite a guy. I recommend him.
